Hi and welcome to this Jason King Insight:
Two 'pimps' who used dating apps to hunt out vulnerable women before leading them down a dark path of coercion and enslavement have been jailed.
Leighton Murray (left image) and Tyler Crossley, (right image) both residents of Derby, have been handed down prison sentences exceeding a combined six years for their involvement in the brutal sexual exploitation of vulnerable women for gain.
Their sickening operation led women into a dual enslavement - to drugs that the evil pair used to get women under their control, and to these two 'pimps' who coerced the women into sex work to pay off alleged debts.
Crossley, aged 26, targeted women struggling to cope with difficult circumstances, often exploiting their struggles with mental health and personal trauma. Leveraging these vulnerabilities, the duo drew their victims in a cycle of drug dependency, before coercing them into sex work to settle fabricated debts.
The operation made use of fake profiles on adult websites, with Murray, 38, setting up appointments with clients.
Beyond coercion into sexual acts, the women found themselves trapped in hotel rooms, enduring the horrors of drug dependency, and compelled to perform acts against their will. The shocking operation was unraveled when authorities discovered a missing woman in a hotel room with Crossley in January 2023, sparking a comprehensive investigation.
The extent of their depravity is staggering, with officers estimating the exploitation of approximately 14 women, though the possibility of additional unidentified victims remains. Both culprits pleaded guilty to charges of conspiring to control prostitution for financial gain. Sentencing was as follows:
Leighton Murray: 3 Years 9 months imprisonment
Tyler Crossley: 2 Years 7 months imprisonment
Well, that’s all for now. But until our next article, please stay tuned, stay informed, but most of all stay safe, and I’ll see you then.
