Hi and welcome to this VPN West Country Crime update:
Three teenagers from Taunton, Hamza Mahmoud (19), Faisal Uriakhail (18), and Zaeden Perkins (18), found themselves facing justice at Bristol Crown Court on 15 March, following their involvement in a disturbing incident of violence. The trio, who had previously pleaded guilty to wounding with intent, were sentenced for their roles in a ‘frenzied and sustained’ stabbing attack on a man in a local park. Judge Edward Burgess KC, presiding over the case, described the assault as deeply troubling. The victim, fortunately, sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, but the attack undoubtedly left a profound impact on the community.
The incident, which occurred on 18 February in the park area between Baldwin Road and Monmouth Road, drew attention to the pressing issue of knife crime. In sentencing, Mahmoud received five years and three months behind bars, Uriakhail received five years, and Perkins received four years. DC Natalie Norman, the officer handling the case, expressed hope that the significant custodial sentences would send a strong message about the severity with which such crimes are treated within the criminal justice system, aiming to provide reassurance to the local community.
Well, that’s all for my first publication with Video Production News, really hope you enjoyed it, more to come. But until my next article, please stay tuned, stay informed, but most of all please stay safe, and I’ll see you then.
