"Mizzy Speaks: Unveiling Autism and Advocating Tolerance!"

Updated: Apr 14

Yo, Hello World? It's your boy Mizzy,

Dropping some knowledge bombs on a topic close to my heart now: autism awareness and neural diversity, and since it's Autism Awareness month, I thought I would give you all a crash course on the subject Mizzy style.

So, check this, I recently had a real talk with my boy Ben at Video Production News, who's been living with high-functioning Asperger's since he was a younger. And let me tell you, it was an eye-opener.

See, I thought I had autism on lock, but turns out, I was straight-up clueless about some things. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) ain't just some label, it's a whole different way of seeing the world and dealing with people. One big thing people trip over is how hard it is for Autistic peeps to read social cues. Like, us all neurotypical folks catch vibes like it's second nature, but for Autistic peeps, it's like trying to decode an alien language.

And yo, let's keep it real: so navigating society's norms for someone with an ASD can feel like playing a game where you don't have the rulebook. But check this, in the UK, they're finally recognizing autism as a legit protected characteristic. That means if you catch feelings over something an autistic person says or writes even if it’s on Whats App or Twitter X DM's, and you know they're on the spectrum, legally you're crossing the line. It's all about respecting our different way of vibing, you feel me?

Now, let's talk about some real talk: inappropriate behaviors. Some people on the spectrum might do stuff that seems hella off to you, but trust, it ain't about causing drama. It's more like them not understanding the playbook everyone else got handed at birth. Remember them computer hackers from back in the day? A bunch of them are suspected to be on the spectrum, too. They ain't trying to bring the system down, they're just doing their thing.

But here's the kicker: the internet's like a whole new level of challenge. Some of autistic people sometimes get tunnel vision on their interests, and sometimes they stumble into places they shouldn't. But let's get this straight: just 'cause we end up in the wrong hood don't mean we're up to no good. It's like Temple Grandin says, sometimes society's rules don't match up with reality.

So here's the deal, crew: let's swap out judgment for understanding, tolerance, and acceptance. Them folks with ASD, are just trying to navigate this crazy world like everyone else. So next time you check some behavior that's got you scratching your head, take a minute to walk in an autistic peson shoes. It's all about spreading love and empathy, 'cause that's how we all level up. In todays neurally diverse society.

If you're feeling this message, share it and lets keep spreading awareness and making a positive impact together, our Conspiracy for Good starts here! So until my next article and some more real Mizzy Talk, stay tuned and stay informed, but until then, take care of yourselves and each other!
