Hi and welcome to this Video Production News Court Report.
Man Convicted of Murdering Former Partner in Croydon.
A man has been convicted of murder after fatally stabbing his former partner at her home in Croydon.
Hussain Haron, 24, of London Road, Mitcham, was found guilty of the murder of Felecia Cadore at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Wednesday, January 29, following a six-day trial.
The court heard that police were called to a property on Grenaby Avenue, Croydon, on June 9, 2023, following reports of an altercation. Officers arrived to find Ms. Cadore, 29, suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was taken to hospital in a critical condition but died from her injuries five days later, on June 14, 2023.
During the trial, prosecutors presented evidence that Haron feeling embittered and disempowered by rhe breakup had entered the property by climbing through a window before attacking Ms. Cadore with a knife. Witness testimony and forensic evidence established that an altercation had taken place before the fatal assault. Haron was arrested later that day in possession of the knife used in the attack.
Haron claimed during the trial that he had acted in self-defence. However, the jury rejected this argument and found him guilty of murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Craig Magee, from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime unit, stated:
“Today, justice has been served following the conviction of Hussain Haron for the murder of Felecia Cadore in June 2023. The verdict is a result of officers working meticulously and tirelessly to secure evidence. It is also testament to the courage of the witnesses who helped establish the facts and bravely stood in the courtroom to give their evidence.”
Haron will be sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, January 31.
Well, that’s all for now. But until our next report, please stay tuned, stay informed, but most of all please stay safe, and we'll see you then.
