Horrific Samurai Sword Rampage: Teen Killed, and Officer's Hand Nearly Severed in Hainault Chaos!

Hi and welcome to this Video Production News update on the horrendous fatal sword attack that took place in Hainault yesterday and also following on from the Met Police now officially naming both the victim and his alleged murderer.



Following the harrowing incident yesterday, a 36-year-old individual, has been charged with the murder of 14-year-old Daniel Anjorin following the violent rampage in Hainault. Marcus Aurelio Arduini Monzo, the accused, faces a slew of charges including murder, attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, aggravated burglary, and possession of an illegal bladed article.


The tragic events unfolded in East London, resulting in Daniel's untimely demise and leaving four others, including two courageous police officers, wounded before the suspect was subdued with a Taser after a 22-minute ordeal.


Additionally Monzo's background, an immigrant now hailing from Newham E16 but holding dual citizenship of Spain and Brazil, adds complexity to the case. Scheduled to appear before Barkingside Magistrates' Court on Thursday, May 2, the legal proceedings promise to be a significant chapter in this heart-wrenching saga.

The Metropolitan Police has been diligent in communicating with the families impacted by this senseless act of violence.


As the events unfolded in Hainault, Marcus Aurelio Arduini Monzo, aged 36, crashed a van into a fence on Laing Close around 7 a.m. on Tuesday mirning. Emerging from the wreckage armed with a large Samurai Sword, Monzo initiated a violent assault on members of the public.


Tragically, 14-year-old Daniel Anjorin became a victim of this rampage, losing his life amidst the chaos. Police officers swiftly responded to the scene, attempting to intervene and apprehend the suspect. However, their efforts were met with aggression, resulting in serious injuries to both officers involved.


Despite initial attempts to subdue Monzo using incapacitant spray and a Taser, the suspect continued to resist arrest, necessitating a significant police presence to contain the situation. Ultimately, after a tense standoff, Monzo was once again tazed and this time ultimately subdued and taken into custody.


Amidst the violent chaos that unfolded in Hainault, one police officer faced particularly severe injuries during the confrontation with Monzo. The female officer, whose identity has not been disclosed, suffered horrifically serious arm injuries, with one nearly resulting in the loss of her hand.


Following the attack, she underwent several hours of extensive surgery to repair the damage inflicted during the altercation. Her road to recovery is expected to be long and arduous, as medical professionals meticulously worked to reconstruct her arm, piecing together the shattered bones and torn tissues.


The Metropolitan Police, led by Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith, are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident, coordinating efforts to gather forensic evidence, review CCTV footage, and interview witnesses. The community has been urged to come forward with any information that may assist in providing answers and ensuring justice for Daniel, his family, and all those impacted by this tragic event.


He has also emphasized the complexity of the case and appealed for patience as the painstaking process of gathering evidence unfolds. Gratitude has also been expressed to witnesses, that have already come forward and assisted in the Mets ongoing enquiries.


Jaswant Narwal, Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London North, has underscored the severity of the charges against Monzo and cautioned against any commentary that could jeopardize the legal proceedings.

In the wake of Daniel's tragic passing, his family has been inundated with support and condolences from the community. Describing him as a beloved and industrious individual, they are grappling with the unimaginable loss of their cherished son.


Bancroft's School, where Daniel was a pupil, has been deeply affected by his passing. Headteacher Simon Marshall has extended heartfelt condolences to Daniel's family and assured the school community of their unwavering support during this trying time.

In addition to Daniel's tragic death, four others were left seriously injured during the chaos in Hainault, including the brave police officers who responded swiftly to the initial distress call.


Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley has offered condolences to Daniel's grieving family and expressed solidarity with the community. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has condemned the senseless violence, emphasizing the need for unity and support for emergency responders during this trying time.
