A 20-year-old man, Nasen Saadi, from Croydon is accused of murdering personal trainer Amie Gray and attempting to kill another woman, appeared in court on Tuesday. Saadi,' faced Winchester Crown Court via video link from prison. He is charged with the murder of 34-year-old Amie Gray and the attempted murder of 38-year-old Leanne Miles, both attacks occurring on May 24 at Durley Chine Beach, Bournemouth.

During the brief hearing, Judge Paul Dugdale highlighted that Saadi had no previous convictions. The court has set the trial to commence on November 25, with a plea and trial preparation hearing scheduled for August 23.

Judge Dugdale emphasized the importance of Saadi engaging with his legal team to prepare for the case. "You are currently remanded in custody on what ultimately will be two allegations, one of murder and one of attempted murder.

The court has fixed a trial date of 25th November before Mrs Justice Cutts and that has a time estimate of three weeks. The next hearing of this case will be on the 23rd August this year, between now and then there will be a lot of activity going on in the case," he said.

On the night of May 24, Dorset Police received a report at 11:42 PM about a stabbing incident at Durley Chine Beach. Amie Gray, from Poole, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her wife, Sian, was present in court and observed the proceedings from the public gallery. Leanne Miles, also from Poole, was hospitalized with serious injuries but has since been discharged.

Detective Superintendent Richard Dixey of the Major Crime Investigation Team commented on the case, extending thoughts to the victims' families and loved ones. "Our thoughts remain with the family and loved ones of Amie Gray, as well as the woman who was seriously injured, and they have been updated with this latest development in our investigation," Dixey said. The investigation remains ongoing, with the next significant court date being the plea and trial preparation hearing in August.

Amie Gray's death has deeply affected her family and community. Her wife, Sian, and their daughter paid tribute by sprinkling rose petals into the sea at sunset. Sian described Amie as a loving wife and mother, whose "giggly laugh and big smile" will be sorely missed. "Words cannot describe the pain that we feel. Amie was the most loving wife and mother. Her giggly laugh and big smile will be hard to be without. A larger-than-life character. I will miss you immensely my love.

To the moon and back, forever and always," Sian said. Amie's mother, Sharon Macklin, called her daughter "beautiful inside and out." "As a family we are devastated to have lost one of the most amazing, funny, kind and energetic souls," she added.

Amie was the head ladies' coach for Dorset Futsal Club, whose members expressed their grief and changed the club's profile picture to a black square in her honor. A relative shared a picture of Amie with an award she had received for her contributions to the club, highlighting her impact on those around her. "Sometimes you meet a person in life that just fits, makes you feel seen and will always have your back," a club tribute read. "Amie was that person, loved by all and will be truly missed."

Flowers were laid in tribute to Amie along the police cordon stretching to Bournemouth Pier, illustrating the community's loss and remembrance of her vibrant life.

Well, that’s all for now. But until our next article, please stay tuned, stay informed, but most of all stay safe, and I’ll see you then.
