Hi and welcome to this video production news update.

In a tragic turn of events, the streets of Newham bore witness to yet another senseless act of violence as two individuals, Awadh Saleh, 25, and Rio Burton-Devine, 25, were found guilty of the murder of Abubakarr ‘Junior’ Jah. Junior, a mere 18 years old at the time of his untimely demise, fell victim to a brutal attack, succumbing to both gunshot and stab wounds in April of 2021.

The Metropolitan Police spared no effort in their pursuit of justice for Junior, employing a multifaceted approach that included exhaustive CCTV analysis, meticulous forensic examinations, and comprehensive phone data scrutiny. The sheer weight of evidence presented during the trial at the Old Bailey served as a testament to the dedication and perseverance of the investigative team.

Junior's tragic fate unfolded amidst a backdrop of familial grief, as his older brother Ahmed Deen-Jah had tragically met a similar end just four years prior. Ahmed, aged 24, was fatally stabbed in a convenience shop in Canning Town in 2017, leaving behind a shattered family still reeling from the loss.

The harrowing details of Junior's murder paint a grim picture of urban violence. CCTV footage captured the chilling moment when a Land Rover Discovery, driven by Saleh, pulled up alongside Junior on Coolfin Road. Within seconds, Junior was ruthlessly attacked, first shot in the chest before being stabbed multiple times. The perpetrators, in a desperate attempt to evade justice, set fire to the vehicle, but forensic evidence left an indelible trail leading back to them.

Despite their denials, the jury, guided by the weight of evidence, delivered a unanimous verdict, holding Saleh and Burton-Devine accountable for their heinous actions. It's believed that the motive behind the attack stemmed from an ongoing feud between rival gangs, underscoring the pervasive influence of gang-related violence within the community.

As the sentencing date looms on the horizon, the thoughts and prayers of the community are with Junior's family, who have endured unfathomable anguish. Their resilience in the face of adversity serves as a beacon of hope in the quest for justice.

Meanwhile, the search for Ahmed's killers continues unabated, as law enforcement officials remain steadfast in their commitment to bringing closure to his grieving loved ones. Seven years may have passed since Ahmed's tragic demise, but the passage of time has not dimmed the resolve of those dedicated to seeking justice.

In closing, we are reminded of the urgent need to address the root causes of urban violence, to stem the tide of senseless bloodshed that has claimed far too many lives. Until then, the fight for justice rages on, fueled by the memory of those lost and the unwavering determination of those left behind.

Well, that’s all for now. But until our next article, please stay tuned, stay informed, but most of all stay safe, and I’ll see you then.
