CHILD GROOMER: SIMON SHARMA SENTENCED:

Hi and welcome to this Video Production News Court Report:

Simon Sharma, 34, has been sentenced to 36 months imprisonment after grooming a vulnerable 14-year-old girl, providing her with cannabis and then sexually assaulting her.

The former convenience store worker assaulted the child in Dundee on 26th May 2023.

He faced charges of sexually assaulting anothe woman while she slept, but this was not proven.

The court heard that failed asylum seeker Sharma can expect to be deported by the Home Office, and Sheriff Alison McKay therefore considered it unnecessary to issue a deportation order.

Sharma had previously got in trouble with the law over an earlier incident, and should have been deported following his prison sentence for a September 2021 assault which involved attempting to urinate on a police officer.

Describing Sharma, defence counsel Neil Beardmore said he "comes across as a reasonable gentleman. But something goes wrong following the consumption of alcohol."

"One of the problems is that sometimes when he's had a drink he can get a bit mouthy".

During his 2021 attack on officer Shogun Hangetsu, Sharma raged: 'I'm going to get a gun and shoot your mum's p****. I will f*** your sister and shoot your mum. I will find you in the street and stab you.

'I will f*** you and I will stick my big d*** in you. Don't f*** me off. Do you want to suck my d***, freshie? I'm going to kill your family. I'm a big guy."

His use of the slur 'freshie', describing a newcomer to the country, was only one facet of the racism directed by failed asylum seeker Sharma towards the police officer, also using the p-word.

The Gome Office apparently forgot to deport him upon his release from prison.

According to the latest available data, there are approximately 239,000 failed asylum seekers who remain in the UK, having not left the country after receiving a definitive refusal of their asylum claims.

Well, that’s all for now. But until our next article, please stay tuned, stay informed, but most of all stay safe, and I’ll see you then.
